On Thursday, January 11th, 2018, the School Counselors will be hosting Junior Family Night. This is the kick off event for the post-secondary planning process, specifically college planning and preparation. The highlight of the event is a panel of college admissions representatives. Our colleagues in admission will be able to provide insight on standardized testing, college visits, essays and more.

The 2018-19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is open! The office of Federal Student Aid, a part of the U.S. Department of Education, is the largest provider of student financial aid in the nation. More than $120 billion in federal grants, loans, and work-study funds are awarded each year to students who fill out the FAFSA. Get help paying for college by filling out your application as soon as possible.

ADVANCED NOTICE: Sophomores will be meeting one-on-one with their School Counselor over the next three weeks. They will receive a notice in homeroom on the day of their appointment. Appointment dates and time are also posted outside our office. These meetings will run approximately 10 minutes and enable each Counselor to review the student's transcript. 



 NEBHE's Tuition Break program

The New England Regional Student Program (RSP), enables thousands of New England residents to enroll at out-of-state New England public colleges and universities at a discount. Students are eligible for the RSP Tuition Break when they enroll in an approved major that is not offered by the public colleges and universities in their home-state.

New England includes the following six states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.  NEBHE Link 

Teen Life helps students, parents and educators find hundreds of "opportunities beyond school," such as summer programs, volunteer openings, after school activities, vacation week programs, gap year programs, and events just for teens and their families.

 High School Counselor Week is a weekly journal of current newspaper and magazine articles with themes related to adolescent development, college awareness, schools, and school counseling.
